Chronic fatigue syndrome

 

 

A few persons are always appear as tired persons. Majority of these persons are also suffering from depression and are in mood of committing suicide as reported in an American survey.

 

 

Chronic fatigue syndrome, or CFS, is a debilitating and complex disorder characterized by profound fatigue that is not improved by bed rest and that may be worsened by physical or mental activity.

 

 

The main symptom of CFS is chronic fatigue that lasts more than 6 months. A CFS diagnosis should be considered in patients who present with six months or more of unexplained fatigue accompanied by other characteristic symptoms.

 

 

More than 1 million Americans suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS). It mainly affects women more than men .

 

 

Causes:

 

 
Change in hormone levels
Viral infections

 

 

Symptoms:

 

 

Unbearable weakness
Lack of sleep
Pain in muscles
Severe Headache
Sore throat

 

 

Treatment:

 

 

No cure is found for chronic fatigue syndrome. Medicines relieve pain. Symptoms gradually improve over time. Doctor may suggest changes in lifestyle.
